16 arrested for illegal sand mining

Police today arrested 16 people for alleged involvement in illegal sand mining here and seized nine tractors and trailers from their possession.
Most of those arrested belonged to Sangrur and Barnala district, police said.
A case has been registered in this and the matter is being probed.
