16 persons test positive for swine flu in WB

No death due to swine flu was reported in West Bengal in the last 24 hours even as 16 persons tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
Out of the 16, nine cases were reported from the city and the other seven from the suburbs, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, West Bengal, Moloy Dey told PSI.
Currently, 83 patients are being treated at different hospitals across the state, he said.
Since January, 24 people have died of swine flu while 351 were discharged after their total recovery from the disease, Dey said.
The total number of people infected were 458 during the period.
Meanwhile, senior CPI(M) leader Gautam Deb, diagnosed with swine flu, was stated to be in a 'stable' condition.
He would be released from hospital tomorrow, a statement issued by the private hospital said.
