17 booked for attack on actor-campainger of AIADMK

Seventeen workers of DMK, DMDK and PMK were today booked for allegedly throwing footwears at actor and AIADMK speaker Thiagu during campaigning in Kodaikanal in Dindigul constituency.
Acting on a complaint from AIADMK town Secretary John Thomas, police registered cases against DMK men, including former municipal chairman Mohammed Ibrahim, DMDK Secretary Selvaraj, PMK Secretary Sangu murugan for allegedly threatening to murder Thiagu, illegal assembly, using abusive language among other offences.
Police said the DMDK,and DMK men were angry as the actor criticised their leaders severely while addressing a campaign meeting.
