17 persons involved in vehicle-theft cases detained

Police today detained 17 persons suspected to have been involved in vehicle-theft cases after carrying out combing and search operation in Ali Meo village in Mewat district.
As many as 42 vehicles, most of which are suspected to be stolen, were seized in this operation, police said.
Around 550 police personnel from six districts including Palwal, Rewari, Mahendergadh, Mewat, Faridabad and Gurgaon pressed into service for this search operation which continued for four hours from 4 am till 8 am, police said.
Suspected persons and vehicles are being verified, they added.
