18 students of civic school suffer from food poisoning

Eighteen students of a municipal school in Jawahar Nagar locality in the city today fell ill after they consumed food provided under the mid-day meal scheme, official sources said.
The students were immediately admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital here, when they complained of stomach pain and started vomiting after eating 'khichdi', they said.
Most of the affected students were from class III and IX, officials said, adding three of them were in a serious condition.
According to the officials, the mid-day meal in Aurangabad municipal schools is provided by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCO).
City mayor, Kala Ojha and health officials of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) visited the hospital.
Following the visit, Ojha said strict action would be taken against those found responsible for the incident.
