An 18-year-old boy was feared drowned in the river Rushikulya near the Tara Tarini temple in Ganjam district, about 30-km from here today, police said.
Manash Bisoi and two of his cousins, who came from Dimiripadar in Koraput district, were taking bath in the river while they came close to the gorge and drowned. While two others were rescued safely, there was no whereabouts of Manash, they said.
Personnel from Odisha disaster rapid action force (ODRAF) and fire station in Purushottampur along with the local people carried out the rescue operation for over seven hours, police said.
