An accused in the 1998 serial bomb blasts case, arrested recently, was on Tuesday sent to two days' police custody by a court here.
The Fifth Judicial Magistrate court passed the order on a plea by the police seeking seven days' custody of Noohu, alias Mankavu Rashid, arrested on September 11 from Kozhikode in Kerala, and brought and lodged in the central prison here.
The CB-CID police produced Rashid before the court.
Rashid, wanted by police, had been at large for the last 20 years since the February 14, 1998, bomb blasts that rocked the city coinciding with the visit of senior BJP leader L K Advani.
In all, 52 people were killed and over 200 injured in the blasts.
