This is the third initiative of the corporation, which has already started fish stalls, where sales touch about Rs 50,000 on Sundays and other holidays. Besides a state-of-the-art fish marketing stall had been constructed at the cooperative society premises near the bus tand.
The corporation also plans to start a mobile fish shop. The Corporation Deputy manager E Kuppurangan said that despite being close to the sea coast, cost of fish dishes in hotels was exorbitant."We want to check the high cost of fish food in hotels and help people in the area get fish food at reasonable rates", he said
