Delhi-based BLS International Services, which is into outsourcing of visa and passport services, has said it has commissioned 2,100 Sewa Kendras in Punjab.
The company was awarded Sewa Kendras project in May this year by the Punjab government for providing IT related infrastructure at these Kendras.
Under the Sewa Kendras project, the state government provides citizen centric services like death and birth certificates as defined under Punjab Right to Services Act, 2011, a company official said.
"We have activated 2,100 Sewa Kendras in Punjab," company's Joint MD Shikhar Aggarwal said.
The Punjab Sewa Kendra (PSK) - which is an e-governance project - was awarded to the company by the state government to provide over 200 citizen services with the setting up of Sewa Kendras across the state, he said, adding that currently 67 services were being delivered at Sewa Kendras.
Aggarwal said the company had invested over Rs 200 crore in this project and had aimed to generate revenue of Rs 1,300 crore in five years from this project.
He said the company had deployed the state of the art technology to secure and maintain sensitive and personal details of citizens.
"The company has so far processed over 5,75,000 applications across all Sewa Kendras and various departments of the government of Punjab, over the last 100 days," Aggarwal said.
The Sewa Kendras were set up with an objective minimising public interaction with various offices and enhance efficiency and delivery of services to the common people, he said.
