2.8 kg gold seized from passenger

Air Customs Intelligence today seized 2.8 kgs of gold valued at around Rs 84 lakh, near Karippur International Airport from a passenger who arrived by an Air India Express Dubai-Kozhikode flight.
Besides the passenger Altaf, an Air India contract (security) employee was also taken into custody in connection with the seizure, customs officials said.
The contract employee had helped the passenger to take the bag containing gold out from the airport, they said.
