On December 3, the 57-year-old businessman, received a call in which the accused demanded 'protection money' for the life of his osn, they said.
When a call was made to the number, the phone was found to be switched off. Its last location was Baljeet Nagar and the caller had left his registered address a few years ago, the police said.
After detailed probe, the two accused, Pravesh Kumar (31) and Aman (22), were arrested. Pravesh was an former employee of the businessman. He had left the job about 11 months ago, they said, adding both the accused under acute financial crisis and had taken a chance to get rich.
