Parmand Verma (30), a property dealer was arrested last night during patrolling at Ambedkar Colony here as he was unable to produce any licence for possessing arms, Rajesh Kumar Soni, Station House Officer (SHO), Khunadhi police station.
Verma claimed to be a local BJP worker, he said.
A country-made pistol and three cartridges of 7.65 mm were recovered from his possession, he said adding that during interrogation, Verma revealed he had obtained the cartridges from one Sohail Khan.
Khan was arrested late last night from Subhsashnagar area and a country-made pistol and one cartridge of 7.65 mm were recovered from him, he said.
Police have not been able to verify their claims.
A case has been registered against the duo under Arms Act, the SHO said adding that they would be produced before the court today.
