Two brothers were shot dead allegedly by three people over a land dispute at Bibiwala village in Punjab's Bathinda district, police said today.
The deceased were identified as Mukhtiar Singh (56) and his brother Jarnail Singh (54), they said.
They were shot when they were going to their fields this morning, a police official said.
Ram Singh, Darshan Singh and Gurmeet Singh, also brothers, were waiting for Jarnail and Mukhtiar near the fields. They allegedly opened fire at them, police said.
"They were declared brought dead by doctors at a hospital here," SHO, Nathana, Bhupinder Singh said.
There was an enmity among them over some land dispute, police said, adding the accused are at large.
Police said a case has been registered in the matter.
