2 children killed in scrap bomb explosion

Two children were killed today in an explosion of two scrap bombs which they collected while playing at Sanwara village of Phalodi district, police said.
The deceased were identified as Surajdan (16) and Prathvidan (12), police said.
The duo were first rushed to a government hospital in Phalodi in the morning, and later shifted to Bikaner's PBM hospital in critical condition and succumbed to their injuries in the evening, they said.
The victims had collected bomb scrap from the field as a toy and brought them home when the mishap occurred, they said.
Police is investigating the case and will inquire from Army about the abandoned bomb in the field.
