2 commit suicide in Muzaffarnagar

Two people committed suicide by shooting themselves in separate incidents in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, police said on Friday.

Farhat Ali, 45, shot himself using a pistol in his house in Phugana, while Sudhir Kumar committed suicide at Dungar village, the police said.

Meanwhile, a youth was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition after he consumed sanitiser at a village in Khatauli area, the police said.

According to an officer, the man consumed sanitiser apparently after not being able to find alcohol during lockdown.
