"As you know the 'Appreciate Yourself' sale on 30th and 31st of May was a much anticipated event for us at Myntra. However, we failed to live up to your expectations due to technical glitches that affected the experience on the App for some customers," an e-mail from the Myntra team said.
While acknowledging "an overwhelming response", the online retailer said, "We are sincerely sorry if it affected your shopping experience with us..."
Several customers had taken to social media to complaint about the app being down.
Myntra, which has gone mobile-only by shutting down its web presence, had offered up to 80 per cent discounts.
When contacted, the company spokesperson declined to comment.
Myntra had gone "mobile-only" just a fortnight ago. The Myntra app has close to 10 million downloads so far, the company said.
"We would like to tell you that all the technical issues have been fixed. We at Myntra, are committed to making your shopping experience better by the day, and hope that you shall give us a chance to do that," the e-mail read.
While Flipkart grossed over USD 100 million in revenues through the sale, the event was marred by glitches and the promoters had to issue a public apology.
