One person was arrested when he tried to escape after being signaled to stop for checking in the Gangyal area here last evening, the officer said. The man was chased down successfully and 10 grams of heroin was found in his possession, he said.
A case was registered at Gangyal police station and an investigation launched, he said, adding that the accused disclosed he had brought the narcotic drug from Punjab with plans to sell it in the district.
In another incident, police intercepted Tulsi Dass near Banglow Chowk in the district and seized 1.5 kg of cannabis from him yesterday, he added.
A case was registered and investigation was underway, the officer said.
