2 govt officials arrested for taking bribe

Two government employees were today arrested by sleuths of Haryana Vigilance Bureau for allegedly taking bribe for doing official works in separate cases, officials said.
In the first case, Som Nath, Assistant Foreman with the power department, Kurukshetra, was caught while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a resident Bhir Mangoli village for installing an electric meter, a spokesman of the Bureau said.
In another incident, Kuldeep Singh, a clerk in employment office at Hansi in Hisar district was caught while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a resident of Krishna Colony in Hansi for the renewal of his wife's registration for employment.
Cases have been registered against the accused under Prevention of Corruption Act at the bureau's police stations at Ambala and Hisar, respectively.
