2 held for illegal sand mining

Two persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal mining on the banks of Choti Gandak river here and three tractor trolleys laden with sand were seized, police said.
A police team carried out a secret operation on Mahuapatan ghat under Rampur Karkhana police station area and seized three tractor trolleys being used to ferry sand, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Dinesh Kumar Gupta said.
Most of the people involved in illegal mining fled from the scene, including two policemen who were posted there, but two persons were apprehended, he said.
A case has been registered in this connection, he said.
