2 killed, 10 injured in clash over land dispute

Two persons were today killed and ten others seriously injured as two groups clashed over a land dispute at Bhavanigarh village in Muli tehsil in Surendranagar district, police said.
Eight persons were arrested in this connection.
"One person was shot dead while another was beaten to death in the clash between members of Bharvad and Koli communities," Superintendent of Police R V Asari said.
Ten persons were admitted to nearby hospital.
The clashes started after a few persons of one of the communities threatened a girl from another community with dire consequences if her community-members did not vacate a piece of land in the village.

When the girl narrated the incident to her family, it led to the clash in which both sides used firearms. Police have lodged a case of murder against those arrested.
