2 killed, 5 injured as van rams tree

: Two persons were killed and five injured when the van in which they were travelling rammed a road side tree at Valandur on the Madurai-Theeni main road here last night, police said.
The deceased, including the driver, were part of a group of tourists going to Munnar in Kerala from Tuticorin.
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle near Valandur after one of its tires burst and the van rammed the tree.
All the injured have been hospitalised.
