2 killed in Holi celebrations in UP

Two persons were killed in Holi revelry in Varanasi and Etah districts of Uttar Pradesh today, police said here.
Ramsurat (60) was beaten to death in Sarnath area of Varanasi district after he smeared colour on a woman.
Police said a case has been lodged against 15 persons of which Rahul, Aniruddha and Vishnu have been arrested.
In Etah, one Pooran Lodhi (55) was shot dead in Mahavirganj area by Bulbul Sharma during revelry.
The incident led to tension in the area, but senior officers reached the spot and pacified the people.
Elaborate security arrangements were made for Holi festival.
"Additional force has been provided to districts for Holi duty, which include three Additional SPs and nine Deputy SPs," IG A Mutha Jain had told reporters here.
He said that in addition to this, 53 companies and two platoons of PAC have been deployed.
"In addition to this, 12 companies of RAF have also been deployed and 1,200 trainees have been provided," he said.
