2 killed in road accident in J&K

Two persons were killed while five others injured in an accident in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.

A vehicle with seven people aboard fell in a deep gorge at Sinthan Top in Kokernag area of the south Kashmir district, a police spokesman said.

Nissar Ahmad Rather and Rifat Maqbool, both residents of Kokernag, died while five others were injured.

All the injured persons were shifted to hospital by police for treatment, the spokesman said.

He said a case has been registered and an investigation has been taken up.
