2 killed in road mishap

The tractor trolley overturned on the roadside last night after it was hit by a dumper truck, killing Anil Kumar (35) on the spot and injuring 25 people, out of which three were in critical condition, they said.

As he was fleeing from the spot, the dumper truck driver mowed down an autorickshaw, killing its driver Raju (36), they said.

The dumper truck driver was arrested and his truck was seized, police said.

The injured were admitted to hospital, they said, adding, the matter is being probed. PTI ZIR ANA In the Shivrajpur area of Kanpur, a

dumper truck first crashed into a tractor, later, the speeding vehicle slammed a rickshaw driver.

Both these accidents took a heavy toll on lives of two people and injuring twenty five.

The massive collision capsized the tractor upside down. The truck driver was arrested later by the police.

"Thirty people hailing from Maan Nivada village of Shivrajpur area were returning from a funeral in a tractor," said Police spokesperson.

"Suddenly a scooter-ladden dumper truck attempting to overtake them, smashed the tractor. The tractor overturned and a passenger, 35-year old Anil Kumar died on the spot while twenty five passengers were injured. Three among them are said to be seriously injured. All the injured and detrimented persons have been hospitalized" added the Police.

In the meanwhile, the fleeing truck driver hit a rickshaw driver, thirty-six year old Raju who succumbed to his injuries and died on-spot.

Police said that the driver was later chased and arrested and the truck has been seized. Bodies of both the deceased has been sent for post-mortem. Police is investigating the matter.
