2 vehicles carrying poll materials sans permission seized

In an alleged case of violation of the model code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections, two vehicles were today seized for carrying poll-related materials like banners and posters without requisite permission from election authorities.
Assistant Returning Officer (ARO)-71 Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) seized two vehicles carrying election-related materials like banners, posters for campaigning purposes after taking cognisance of violation of the model code of conduct, officials said.
Meanwhile, in another incident today, a youth was arrested and 37 pouches of illicit liquor seized from him in Jammu, police said.
The youth was intercepted at Jaswan in Kahna Chak area.
A case under the Excise Act has been registered and investigation is going on, they said.
