The wardens, arrested last night, were produced today before a court which remanded them to 15 days judicial custody.
Police said the mobile phone of one of the wardens had gone missing yesterday and suspecting the five class X students, inmates of the hostel, the two officials had beaten them up using canes and hacksaw blades.
The students escaped from the hostel and were wandering near the bus stand here when a policeman noticed them. When he questioned them, the students narrated their ordeal, police said.
The students, who suffered multiple injuries, were admitted to the Govenment Rajaji hospital.
