Regional manager (RM) of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation P K Bose said that every year eye sight checking camp are being organized at each bus depot.
During a routine eye check up camp at eight bus depots here, 200 out of 900 drivers who had undergone the test were found with weak vision, he said.
Taking strict note of the anomaly, the District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma has instructed the RM to initiate stringent measures to subject the bus drivers to undergo eye sight check-ups for near and distant vision, and also for cataract at an interval of six months as the eye sight becomes weak with the advancement of age.
