The victim identified as Ashok, a resident of Devilal Nagar, was yesterday shot by unidentified assailant who managed to escape after the incident, they said.
Ashok died on the spot, they said.
The reason behind the murder could not be ascertained so far, they said adding, the matter is being investigated.
In a separate incident, one Pradeep got electrocuted yesterday after he came in contact with a live wire at the roof of a shop near the new grain market here, police said.
It is suspected that he died of snake bite while he was working in his field, they said.
One Baljit allegedly committed suicide yesterday by jumping before a running train near Baroda village here, police said.
His relative told that Baljit was mentally disturbed for the past many days due to some issues, they said.
A body of an unidentified old man was found at the Jind railway station, railway police said.
Efforts are on to identify the man, they said.
