The incident took place when the upper end of the Tazia came in touch with an overhead power line in Bhagohar village under Wazirgaj police station area, injuring 23 people, police said.
The injured were rushed to Wazirganj community health centre from where ten were discharged after first-aid, police said, adding, the rest were referred to the district hospital where six were admitted and others sent home after treatment.
In another incident on Gonda-Utraula road, the Tazia procession from Dhanauli village touched the overhead electric line while crossing a railway line, police said.
