23-yr-old Dalit girl raped

A 23-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped for six years by a youth on the pretext of marriage, police said.
According to a complaint lodged by the girl, one Neeraj, belonging to Pandeypur village raped her over a period of six years, police said today.
The girl had come in contact with the youth during an examination in 2008 and was in a relationship with him since then, police said.
The girl in her complaint has said that the youth, who belonged to the same community, had promised to marry her but has gone back on it now.
A case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code was filed yesterday on the girl's complaint, police added.
