Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police today seized 232 kilograms of ganja from a truck on the outskirts of the state capital.
Truck driver Mannu Kumar Dubey, a resident of Bankatwa village under Paharpur police station in East Champaran district was arrested in this connection, the police said.
EOU officers said the narcotic weed was concealed in specially made tanks beneath the vehicle's body was intercepted on the southern end of Mahatma Gandhi Setu, while it was trying to cross the Ganga River.
Additional Director General of Police (headquarters) Ravinder Kumar said, "The arrested person has revealed that the contraband was brought from Sugda in Odisha. It was being taken to Gopalganj in Bihar."
