The deceased Dinesh Kumar, a Chartered Accountant working with a private firm in Noida, was living with his parents and elder brother in east Delhi's Ghonda area and took the extreme step as he was under depression.
According to a note recovered from the spot written by the deceased, three of Kumar's friends were blackmailing him since sometime and were planning to implicate him in a false case.
The incident came to light on Sunday night.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the parents for final rites.
Police have registered a case and investigations are underway. Any arrests would be made only after the role of the accused in the case is established, police said.
