: At least 25 startups from across the country are set to showcase their ideas at the Global Impact Challenge (GIC) to be held here from July 2.

The six-day event is being organised by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in collaboration with US-based Singularity University (SU) at Technopark.

As per the schedule, the boot camp will be launched on July 2 and the finale will be held on July 7.

The pitch day is scheduled on July 6, a press release said.

The India GIC is aimed at inspiring start-ups to find solutions to address global challenges in learning, healthcare and environment sectors.

KSUM has selected 25 finalists belonging to different states from the applications, which included 11 in healthcare, 8 in environment and 6 in education.

Speakers and experts from various fields will participate in different sessions.

On the first day, Deepu Nath of Faya Innovations will deliver the opening address about the SU and the GIC.

Hrishikesh Nair, CEO, Technopark will be delivering the welcome address while Dr Saji Gopinath, CEO, KSUM will talk about the startup ecosystem support.

IT Secretary, M Sivasankar, will speak on Kerala contest challenges on the first day.

The SU is a global community using exponential technologies to tackle the world's biggest challenges.

The aim of the GIC is to foster moonshot innovations and startups that positively impact the lives of people, with an ability to scale and impact a billion people worldwide in 10 years.

In the learning field, it aims to address skill shortage in emerging technologies and adoption of 21st century skillsets among the youth.

In the environment segment, the India GIC targets solid waste management in urban and rural areas, besides focusing on controlling air and water pollution in cities.

On the final day, the best idea will be selected and taken for the SU Incubation programme that lasts for nine weeks.
