25-year-old booked for raping minor girl

A 25-year-old man has been booked for allegedly raping a minor girl by entering her house in Khatoli police station area here.
A case has been registered against Sanjiv for raping an 8-year-old girl when she was alone at her house at Budha Kalan village under Khatoli police station area yesterday, SHO Sunil Kumar Tyagi said.
The girl has been sent for medical examination, he said, adding that the accused was absconding.
Prior to joining BJP in 2014, Jayesh Patel had contested
the state Assembly election twice as Congress candidate against sitting BJP MLA Madhu Srivastav and lost on both the occasions.
Before his arrest last night, police recovered a video, which was purportedly recorded a day before the FIR was lodged.
In the video, which went viral a few days back, Patel is seen as saying that he would be in trouble if a case is registered against him.
Meanwhile, the Parul University, in a statement issued today, said that the allegations against Jayesh Patel are individual in nature.
The varsity's new president, Dr Devanshu Patel, in a statement said his father Jayesh Patel has been removed from the president's post after the case was lodged.

Jayesh Patel was later in the day produced at a local
court, which sent him in eight-day police custody.
"Patel was produced in a local court at Waghodia this evening and after hearing arguments from both sides (defence and prosecution), the court remanded him in eight-day police custody till June 30," G S Malik, Inspector General (Vadodara Range), told
