The mishap occurred when the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle in an attempt to save a motorcyclist near Chandwada on Ranchi-Patna road on Sunday, they said.
Altogether 26 passengers suffered injuries including five seriously, the police said adding the injured have been admitted at a nearby hospital.
Around 50 passengers were in the bus, when it fell in the ditch.
