Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra said that acting on a tip off, the police raided an area in bus stand of the town from where it arrested a person along with a pick up van and seized 28 cartons of foreign liquor.
The arrested person has been identified as Birju Mandal, a resident of Patna, while the driver of the pick up van managed to escape, the SP said, adding the cartons were being brought from West Bengal for distributing it to Jokihat area of neighbouring Araria district.
Security had been beefed up in Kishanganj district in view of state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's programme yesterday.
