The mishap took place near Sultanpur village under Julapalli police limits in Peddapalli district.
According to Sultanabad Circle Inspector A Ramulu, a speeding bus of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation tipped over at a road corner on the outskirts of Sultanpur.
"Fifty-four passengers were travelling in the bus that was going from Karimnagar to Kachapur village," he said.
Twenty-eight passengers, including 20 women, sustained injuries in the mishap, he said.
The injured were shifted to Karimnagar headquarters hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable, Ramulu said.
