The second phase of the Haryana Congress' 'Cycle Yatra' concluded in Sirsa today, with state unit chief Ashok Tanwar claiming that the party was getting overwhelming support from the public, who will show the ruling BJP the door in the elections next year.
He claimed that the Congress will win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats from Haryana next year and will also bag 80 seats in the 90-member Assembly in the state polls, which are also due next year.
Addressing a gathering in Sirsa, Tanwar announced that the third phase of the 'Cycle Yatra will be held from Garhi Sampla, the birth place of renowned peasant leader late Sir Chhotu Ram to Baniyani, the native village of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Tanwar, a former MP from Sirsa, claimed that in the last four years, the BJP has not done any development work and only resorted to 'jumlabazi' (rhetoric).
"They have been throwing dust in the eyes of public during these four years. However the people have understood their gameplan and now they are waiting to teach the BJP a lesson in the polls," he said.
Tanwar announced that on June 5, a Kisan-Mazdoor Sammelan will be held at Hisar.
