3 arrested for killing UP village head's father

Three persons have been arrested for their alleged role in shooting dead the father of a village head in Nausarpur area here, police said today.
A man and his two sons were arrested yesterday from Gadhi Kataiyya village for their alleged role in the crime, SSP Deepak Kumar said.
Birjeshwer Tyagi, father of Lalit Tyagi, head of gram panchayat of Noraspur- Alipur was shot dead by three bike-borne assailants on March 30.
An FIR was lodged against the suspects following a complaint by Lalit, he said.
On April 3, scores of villagers had blocked the highway under the aegis of BJP district president Basant Tyagi.

Station House Officer (SHO) and Senior Sub Inspector (SSI) of Tronica city police station had been transferred to police lines for their failure in arresting the culprits. The entire staff of Mandola village police post was also suspended for dereliction of duty.
Police added that other absconding culprits involved in the case will be arrested soon.
