Three boys got drowned in a pond
near Phulmawi village in southern part of Aizawl district today, Vice President of the Young Mizo Association, Phulmawi branch, Lalropuia said.
The incident occurred shortly after 12.30 PM when one of the boys got drowned and two of his friends too drowned while trying to save him, Lalropuia told PTI.
The victims were identified as Lalmuanpuia (8), Lalhriatzuala (8) and Hmingthanpuia (9), all belonging to Phulmawi village under Bawngkawn police station.
Aizawl Superintendent of Police C. Laldina said policemen were sent to Phulmawi village to conduct inquests and other formalities.
