Based on information from the diary of an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Manju, who was arrested recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorities took Dr Naveen Aggarwal, Dr Arpita and Dr Jagdish Dhankar into custody, FDA Commissioner Dr Rakesh Gupta said.
The doctors have been booked for violation of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act.
It was found that Dr Naveen worked at four ultrasound centres in different districts in the state and his ultrasound centre was being run by his wife Dr Arpita at Ballabhgarh in Faridabad, which was also raided and sealed after detection of major violation of PC-PNDT act.
