3 drug peddlers arrested in J-K

A bus driver and conductor were today arrested in Digiana near here with 185 bottles of Corex which they were allegedly smuggling into Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
During checking of a video coach bus, a box carrying the bottles were recovered and when questioned about the drugs, bus driver Rajesh Kumar and conductor Balwinder Sharma failed to give any satisfactory answer, a police officer said.
The duo, who was arrested, told police that they themselves purchase the drugs in Delhi and then deliver it to one Lakhvir Singh here, he said.
Singh, who used to earlier drive the bus, pays them Rs 5,000 for the work which they had been doing for long, he said.

The drug is later supplied among the youth of Jammu, he said.
With the duo's help, Singh was arrested and 50 more bottles of the drug were seized on the basis of information provided by him, he said.
A case has been registered against the accused and the 235 bottles and bus have been seized, the officer said.
An investigation is underway in the matter, the Officer added.
