3 held for robbing vehicles

Three armed men were arrested for allegedly robbing vehicles on isolated routes in Palwal district here.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached the spot on Tatatarpur-Prithla road last Saturday where the accused thought them to be commuters and pointed pistols at them, a police official said.
They were arrested while they were trying to flee, he said, adding, two country-made pistols and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
The accused were produced in a court yesterday which remanded them to police custody for a day.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to robbing a truck a few days back which has been recovered, the police official said.

A case in this regard has been registered with the Palwal police station and efforts were on to nab three absconding members of the gang, he said.
