3 held with illegal liquor in Muzaffarnagar

Three persons have been arrested with 35 cartons of illegal liquor they were trying to smuggle in a truck in Muzaffarnagar district, police said today.
The three men were arrested on Miranpur-Khatauli road last evening, they said, adding that the liquor was believed to be worth Rs 50,000.
The truck has been seized.
The police suspect the liquor was meant for distribbution during the civic polls next month.
