3 injured as house ceiling caves-in amid heavy rains

Three members of a family were today injured when a portion of ceiling at their house caved-in following heavy downpour in the city.
The mishap occurred at around 9.30 AM in Savarkar Nagar locality when the ceiling of the house crashed, Thane's Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam said.
A 46-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son sustained multiple fractures and while her other son, aged 20, suffered electric shocks in the mishap, he said.
The victims were admitted to a local hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger, he said.
A team of firemen and RDMC personnel was rushed to carry out rescue operation at the site.
