The incident happened when the jeep carrying 11 persons was going to Ghansaali from Chamiyala, they said.
The jeep fell into Bhilangna river at Ghansahli area here killing three persons and injuring six others.
Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and recovered three bodies. Two others are still missing, police said.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, they said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Harish Rawat expressed grief over the incident and asked Tehri District Magistrate to ensure that adequate compensation is provided to the families of the deceased.
