The accused were arrested from Doharighat area of the district yesterday, STF said in a statement today.
On a tip-off that a narcotics smuggler from Barabanki would be delivering a consignment at a hospital in Mau, the joint team arrested Jitendra alias 'Doctor', Noor Mohammad and Mohammed Rafiq from there and recovered 260 gm heroin, mobile phones and other things from them, according to the statement.
During investigation it was learnt that Jitendra, who has worked with doctors earlier, now ran an illegal hospital named National Nursing Home from where he used to trade in narcotics and some medicines, the statement said.
Rafiq is an accomplice of Jitendra and had been involved in his illegal activities for the past several years.
Noor Mohammad said he was the courier of a narcotics smuggler of Barabanki.
