The motorcyclist was later arrested on charges of assaulting the police, they said.
The incident happened at Kasba last evening when the SI of Kasba Police Station stopped a motorcycle during a routine check-up, the police said.
On failing to produce the vehicle documents, the SI asked the biker to step down from his bike following which an altercation broke out where the policeman was manhandled, they said.
"In the fight the SI's hand was fractured and two other constables were injured too. We have arrested the biker and an investigation has been initiated into the incident," a police officer said.
