3 relief camps set up in Alipurduar dist

Three relief camps were set up in neighbouring Alipurduar district of West Bengal for refugees leaving their homes in Assam.
Additional SP Akash Megharia said while an estimated 300 refugees were still residing in the camps, 200 others have left in the past two days.
The refugees crossed over to the Bengal side in the wake of the firing.
The administration has deployed one company of CRPF for security purpose at the camps in Kumargram block and made provisions for drinking water and food for those having left their homes in the wake of the massacre in Kokrajhar, Sonitpur and Chirang districts.
Atlast 78 persons were killed in the NDFB (S) violence in lower Assam since Decemmber 23.
