3 youth arrested for extortion

Three youth have been arrested for their alleged role in a case of extortion in Baramulla district of Kashmir.
"Three extortionists were arrested and an air pistol, that was used in the commission of the crime, was recovered from them," a police spokesman said today.
Tanveer Ahmad Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and Javaid Ahmad Lone were arrested yesterday after their names cropped up during the course of an investigation into an extortion case.
On November 9, they had barged into the room of Mohammad Ansari, a resident of Bihar, in Sheeri area and snatched two mobile phones and some cash at gun point, police said.

"During the probe, police rounded up several persons of the area for questioning and after strenuous efforts the accused persons were arrested," the spokesman said.
The mobile phones snatched from Ansari were also recovered, he said.
